The checklist gets done. The question is how it gets done.
Inflect OR measures the behavioral fidelity of perioperative safety processes using ambient team communication — giving clinical teams actionable feedback and quality leaders a longitudinal view of how the process is actually being performed.
How Inflect OR works
-
Capture
Ambient team audio is captured during the defined procedural window. No cameras. No wearables. No additional checklist for clinicians to complete.
-
Detect
Inflect identifies the safety communication events defined in your workflow: timeouts, confirmations, handoffs, callouts, sign-outs, escalation, and other required behaviors.
-
Measure
Each event is compared against the process your organization expects — not simply whether the box was checked, but whether the process was performed as designed.
-
Improve
Clinical teams receive case-level or longitudinal coaching feedback. Quality and operational leaders see aggregated trends across teams, service lines, sites, and time periods.
More than whether someone said the words
- Participation and confirmation: See whether the required disciplines actively participated and whether critical elements were verbally confirmed.
- Closed-loop communication: Measure whether medications, critical results, and other important callouts were acknowledged or repeated back when required.
- Handoffs and information transfer: See whether required information actually crossed the transition — not simply whether a handoff field was completed.
- Escalation and response: Identify whether concerns were raised, acknowledged, and resolved within the safety process.
- Process fidelity: Measure whether the expected sequence and behaviors occurred as designed, rather than relying only on documentation that the process was completed.
Built for quality improvement, not surveillance
- Configurable Audio Retention: Team audio is converted into structured process metrics. Your organization sets how long audio and derived data are retained, in line with its own privacy, quality, and records policies.
- Built for PSQIA / PSWP Workflows: Designed as a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety tool. Outputs are structured so your organization can manage them as Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP). Inflect does not create privilege by itself; protection depends on your organization's governance.
- No Video or Visual Surveillance: Inflect OR does not use cameras, optical sensors, or facial recognition. Only process communication is evaluated.
- Non-Punitive by Design: Reporting can be configured for case-level coaching, aggregated service-line and facility views, or both, and is designed for quality improvement, not credentialing, discipline, or individual performance evaluations.
